Gold Coast MS Swimathon

Part of Just keep swimming

I am taking part in the 2021 MS Swimathon, to join the fight against multiple sclerosis.

Earlier this year my Mums best friend sadly passed from having MS.  She and her family had suffered for a very long time with the effects of this disease

I am so thankful for the memories that I managed to create with my Aunty Hilary and her family before I moved to Australia.

Aunty Hillary taught me a huge amount in terms of respect for all people, and understanding for people from other cultures and religions. She built within me an empathy for people who are different to me, and the ability to understand and respect those people - through sharing her culture with me and my family.

As well as a love for Chinese Food.

I probably wasn’t there enough in her latter years, but will forever treasure my childhood memories in her house with my parents and the joy her whole family has given me.

Out of support and love for her husband, my Uncle Laurie and two children, Evie and Micheal, I can’t wait to help raise money to help anyone else who is effected my MS.

As I swim, I will be thinking about them all, and the joy they bought into my life

Please support us all, as we try and help with this disease that can effect so many lives

I am raising funds to show my support and your donation will make an impact to change the lives of people living with MS.

Did you know:

  • On average, more than 10 Australians are diagnosed with MS every week
  • The average age of diagnosis is just 30 years of age.
  • Three out of four Australians with MS are women

Your support will help fund essential services for almost 4,000 Queenslanders living with MS. These services include our NeuroAssist information line, specialist nursing services, wellness programs and financial support. Your support will also power research into better treatments, and with your support, our hope is that one day there will be a cure for MS.

Please DONATE to support my swim to help ensure no one faces MS alone.
